The California History Section holds a premier collection of documents from and about California's rich history. Our vaults house thousands of rare books, maps, newspapers, and periodicals in addition to a huge collection of one-of-a-kind photographs, letters, paintings, posters, pamphlets, and sheet music. Regardless of whether you're a serious researcher, a fourth grader or an average person visiting Sacramento, we'll have a resource for you!

Spring greetings everybody! Celebrate the first full month of spring by visiting our new book and ephemera display, attending one of our talks, taking a peak at our periodical and county of the month or enjoying our latest research guides! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
