Periodical of the Month

View of the Lodi Arch on Pine Street in Lodi, San Joaquin County, 1907. The arch was built in mission style, with three bells at center of arch. Construction debris is seen around arch. An additional arch for the Tokay Carnival is seen beyond Lodi Arch. Congratulations to the writers and editors of our March Periodical of the Month, Lodi Historian! We have featured the index to the 2015 volume, in part because this volume does an excellent job of covering early urban development with articles on individual residences and the creation of early Lodi public utilities. If you are curious about how a town transforms over time, this is the periodical for you.

At the end of 2015, in an effort to better acknowledge and support work in the California history community, the California History Section started the Periodical of the Month program. This recognition honors quality research, editing and writing in periodicals devoted to California history. If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to contact us.
