Periodical of the Month

Four grizzly bears around a tent, stream on the right, mountains and moon in background. Congratulations to the writers and editors of our May Periodical of the Month, Sierra! We have featured the index to the Jan/Feb 2016 issue, in part because this issue covers a wide variety of California-related issues from hiking near Oakland, to garbage cleanup in the Pacific. It even highlights the success California's state animal, the grizzly, is having in other states. If you have a love of the natural world, this is the periodical for you.

At the end of 2015, in an effort to better acknowledge and support work in the California history community, the California History Section started the Periodical of the Month program. This recognition honors quality research, editing and writing in periodicals devoted to California history. If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to contact us.
